INSPIRING SAINT
Life
& Teachings of H.H. Jagadguru Sri Bharathi Theertha Mahaswamigal |

Sri Mahasannidhanam firmly
believed that in order to protect the Vedas, the vedic scholars must be protected and
nurtured.Hence, He always gave priority to the needs of the scholars. Deserving pundits
were provided with a life-time allowance of Rs. 1,000/- per month. This stipend was given
to those who have studied one of the four Shastras Vyaakarana, Nyaya, Mimamsa and
Vedanta in a traditional way under a competent vidwan. After passing an exam
conducted by the Sringeri Math, they should dedicate their entire life for the teaching
and propagation of the particular Shastra in which they are proficient. Paying a fitting
tribute to His Guru, SriMahasannidhanam , and His invaluable teaching, Sri Sannidhanam had
a beautiful and majestic granite Adhistanam built at Narasimhavanam..
His Holiness Sri Sannidhanam has an unmatched
skill in problem solving, decision making and impeccably managing the administration of
the Math. Initially under the guidance of His Guru and later as Peethadhipathi of the
Srigeri Sarada Peetha, His Holiness managed everything with extraordinary calibre and
competence. Not only administrative activities were important but also financial
management too. The major income for the Math is from donations made by devotees in
various forms. The financial aspects of the Math administration are maintained with
striking accuracy. Based on the funds position, His Holiness implements various welfare
schemes such as allowance to Vedic scholars, Yagnas, maintaining temples and schools etc.
Considering the magnitude of activities and administration work involved, Sri Sannidhanam
managed everything flawlessly in addition to His complete mastery over the Vedas and
Shastras.
Under His
leadership, Veda Patashalas were improved with competent and highly learned teachers. Sri
Sannidhanam Himself ensured that the various scriptural injunctions were implemented
rigorously. Under the supervision of His Holiness, the Math also conducts Satachandi
homam, Atirudra homam and the like for the welfare of the world where students also
participate to implement their skills.
Millions of devotees visit the Math. Sri
Sannidhanam gives darshan to devotees during the Theertha Prasadam distribution in the
morning and evening. He counsels and provides so!ace to each devotee patiently and
sincerely. His Holiness gets up at 4:00am and retires for the night at 11:00pm. After
getting up in the morning, His Holiness recites 'Pratasmarana slokas and then takes
a bath. He undertakes Gita after Anushtanarn. He then conducts classes and attends to Math
affairs. He gives darshan at 5:00pm and at 8:30pm commences Puja to Lord
Chandramouleeswara. He retires for the night after reading scriptures.
