Introduction to Shivpuran-

by Kathakaar (Speaker, Singer) Pujya Shri Dayagiribapu Goswami

Translation by Kirti Ramesh Vakharia

(Author & Kathakaar's) Self Introduction:

Pujya (Divine) Shri (His Honor) Dayagiribapu is born in a small village Soornagar, county Gaariadhaar, district Bhavnagar, state Gujarat in India, on May 7th, 1948.

His Petaashri (blessed father's) and Maatrushri's (blessed mother's) names are Shri Jeraamgiribapu, and Pujya Ambama, respectively. His dharampatni's (devoted wife's) name is Shri Vidyaben and together they have two sons and one daughter.

He is, Adhishankryaacharya ( The Greatest Diety Shiv/Shankar's forbidden activities followers) and sansthapati (president) of organization Dashnaam (ten names) Goswami, member of sanyaasi (monk) parumpuraana (through generations inherited tradition of) 'Giri' family, with Shiv being the Main Deity.

In childhood itself he has mastered religious singing, giving sermons and singing stuti (homage?) Shlokaa (holy poems). Gradually he started gungaan (singing praises), presentations of Shivpuraankatha (Shiva's life-history). In India, he has presented these 'Kathaas' unganit (unaccountable) times, accompanied with classical music. By invitations, he has done the same in East Africa (Kenya & Tanzania), South Africa, England, Mauritius, New Zealand, United States of America and Canada among other countries world-wide. Presently too, with his constant 'Katha' presentations keeps 'Bhagvo' (Godly orange) Indian flag flying.

He is one and only internationally famous person, who keeps his audience interested, and captured through Shiv Puran Kathaas with his deep voice, and honey-sweetened language along with music.

In this manner with his Katha Mahima ( Importance) numerous temples, aashrams (retreat), Gaushalas (cow shelters), Schools Hospitals have been instituted.

In addition with Katha , satsang (truth accompaniment), laziness, pramaad (false pride), vhem(blind faith), etc. are pushed away will keep on being pushed away from minds to be replaced by love, values, devotion, and unity so as the society can function in an organized manner.

He spends/donates the daan (charity) dakshinaa (fee for religious teachings) received from the society for social work. True religion is to serve humankind and its life, inspired by this Swami Vivekaanand's belief, he is getting Shivnaarayan Society built in Bhavnagar. After its completion he is planning to start school, hospital and other social-work related fields.

Saadhu (monks) should always be walking/travelling based on this phrase he travels worldwide to serve the human society by satsung.

His son, Shri Rajendragiri Goswami is also presenting Shivpuraan as well as Ramamayan Katha.
